Bond, Mount and Seal — Even Under Water

Tec7 is a solvent-free MS polymer based product. It’s not a silicone — it’s a Hybrid MS polymer, a technology developed in Japan in the late 1970s to make buildings more resistant to earthquakes. The combination of high bonding strength and high elasticity allows MS polymers to absorb movement and vibrations while remaining strong enough to hold structures together. Bolts and screws can’t do that.

The Best of Two Worlds

Tec7 MS polymers are a more than worthy alternative to silicones. Many current-generation silicones are either of the acetic acid type — which cannot be used on acid-sensitive metals or cement and lime-based substrates — or of the neutral curing oxime type. These oximes, particularly MEK-oxime (MEKO), were classified as “suspected carcinogenic” by the EU in 2020.

Hybrid MS polymers have a clear advantage in chemical structure — hence the name “hybrid.” In terms of properties, it combines the best of silicone sealants (elasticity, longevity) and extremely strong PU adhesives (adhesion, paintability, easier to process).

Environmental Resistance and Durability

Tec7 demonstrates high durability under environmental stressors, supported by polymer stability and high resistance to degradation. It has low volatile organic compounds (VOCs) both during and after use.

Resistance Characteristics

• UV stability — does not yellow or chalk like PU sealants
• Water and saltwater resistance — suitable for marine environments and façade exposure
• Processing temperature: -10°C to +40°C
• Thermal stability range: typically -40°C to +90°C (short-term to +120°C)
• Chemical resistance — stable against water, seawater, aliphatic solvents, oils, fats, dilute organic acids, and alkalis
